Just as the Liberal Democrats were accused of tethering the true Conservative agenda in the coalition government, the EU is now tarred with the same inihibitting brush but the right wing and their friendly media.

This is no doubt true, but would a Conservative government with the reigns off really be what the UK needs? Many fear not and sus[pect that this would lead to worsening prospects for average workers while the privileged few at the top would benefit disproportionately as regulation protecting workers and citizens rights are wiped away.
