With the UK economy still only at best making a sluggish recovery it is unlikely that new enterprise will find it easy to gain adequate investment from UK sourcse.

So economic practicalities have forced them to seek foreign investment from companies and governments showing any interest in investing in the British enterprise. With the balance of trade still in the red any inward investment would be a welcome addition to the national coffers. There are some signs the next upturn might lean more favourably to maufacturing which would also help balance of payments after so many years being overly reliant on the service sector for wealth creation and growth.
