David Cameron has stated that he is generally in favour of the UK contuniuing to be an EU member.

But his fellow Conservatives have plied much pressure for a renegotiation of the terms of UK EU membership. It has been long suggested that any claims the PM might make that he cAN win significant changes to UK membership are nothing but hot air and any such negotiations will merely be lip service to silence EU critics.
