George Osborne budget cartoon
The chancellor comes in for heavy criticism from disability groups for cutting support to the most vulnerable
The Chancellor George Oosborne delivers a budget that cuts £30 a week from disability benefit while handing tax cuts to the highest earners. In effect he is a reverse Robin Hood, robbing the poor to give to the rich. But the old arguments of trickle down economics are wearing thin as more and more people realise they were nonsense all along. Osborne received a great deal of criticism from the public but remains in place as his catalogue of failures to meet even his own targets stretches out for all to see. Disability groups have seemingly universally condemned the budget and one individual who ran the Conservative Disability Group took his own site down in protest.
