In the increasingly bloody cvil war it has become increasingly clear that the opposition forces are a very mixed bunch indeed and from this conflict the ISIL fighters have arisen and waging a very bloody campaign against all those they see as opposing their views in seeking to install an Islamic State which doesn't recognise any existing boundaries. The president has fought his own bloody war against many of the same people and innocents continue to die as the power vacuum that exists across much of the region prevails. The US and UK and other allies are now launching attacks against ISIL forces when twelve months ago they were voting to do the same against the Syrian government.
