Nick Clegg and David Cameron cartoon
The Prime Minister of the Conservative led coalition government offers a financially hard up Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Libdems cash in return for his party's backing in the boundaries change vote.
The Tories, desperate to make boundary changes without which they know they are highly unlikely to be able to win the nexy general election have offered financial incentives to their coalition partners whose finances have shown up to be in dire straits. This political wheeler-dealing may not be exactly illegal but it certainly leaves a bad taste that two different partiesn neither of whom won an outright majority at the last election could conspire to mutually benefit each other and in so doing insure one party does win an overall majority at the next national poll.
