The American President Barack Obama wants to ask the British Prime Minister about the National Health Service. And the PM wants to ask him about private healthcare systems as they dance together in the Whitehouse as President and First Lady. In the USA the NHS has been portrayed as being run by death panels who decide who lives and dies when in a crude attempy to derail the implementation of State healthcare provision and some UK Conservatives politicians have spoken in the media to re-enforce this view. But in a country where many are denied treatment because they cannot afford health insurance are sometime left to die this is a rather hypocritical view. While in Britain the coalition government makes moves to bring more private provision to the system amid claims of privatisation by stealth and fears of the US style system being introduced where those who are unable to pay are denided some if not all treatment.
