The Home Secretary Theresa May has to rely on the British armed forces to bail her out of the government franchising to G4S security who could then not meet it commitments at the 2012 Olympics. For the London Times.
Multi-million pound contract for security at the 2012 Games turned into a fiasco meant staffing numbers fell way short of the number required to meet minimum security. So the government was forced to call upon the armed forces to make up the numbers and the irony being that this happened off the back of many members of the armed forces being handed redundanct notices. Odd that a government who obviously needs the armed forces would seem to think they need fewer people in that role. Thanks to the squaddies the Games were a great success and security was kept tight.
