City living illustration

I was asked by Estates Ggazette to create a cartoon illustration that showed the pros and cons of city life, reflecting the push and pull factors that either draw us to or turn us away from living in major population centres.

With many people seeking the idyllic retirement to the countryside cities are becoming places that are ever more the proeserve of the young, where only they can keep up with the hussle bussle and hassle of living and working in our major population centres. But I would suspect a fair number of them only do so as they have no other option. Yes cities have things to offer like greater opportunities for social interraction and cultural pursuits, but they remain noisy, dirty, over-crowded stressful places.
